An excellent entry which sums up “the Camino will provide” beautifully. I had an experience on day 2 out of SJPdP, the details of which don’t matter here but related to my back and balance. Pilgrims who I had never seen or met before came to my aid, assisted me in the most fantastic way and I...
I like this response.
There are so many variables along the way it really doesn’t matter. I finished my Camino in April 2018. The SDC pilgrim office credited me with 799km.
I offered to walk another km but it wouldn’t have made any difference
Hi. You raise a very interesting question.
On my Camino in 2018 I experienced a physical problem which was compounded by reasonably heavy snow. It was day 2 out of SJPDP.
It occurred to me that my Camino was over but this was overcome by the urge to continue and the fact that too many people...
The best advice I received was - look at every item in your pack. Ask yourself is it absolutely necessary? What will I do if I don't have it? My instinct is your pack and contents is way to heavy but that's a personal thing.
I started from SJPDP in mid-March with a lot of snow on days 1 and 2...
Congrats on selecting the Pacer pole.
I “discovered” them in time to get a pair sent to me prior to my Camino Frances in early 2018.
They really do feel natural and assist with a good walking posture.
Excellent product.
Buen Camino
Hi. You won’t regret buying these poles.
I “discovered” them prior to walking Camino Francis in 2018. and found them an outstanding product. Very good at sorting your posture.
I swear by mine.
Buen CMino
Absolutely agree. Burgos at Easter 2018 was a highlight of my Camino. I had the great fortune to meet a pilgrim on the way from Burgos and we were out every night at the parades. He invited me to stay at his central city apartment and we had a ball.
I agree - I used the Enlightened Equipment Revelation 40 on my Camino 3 years. Has to be one of the lightest on the market and was perfect for what I needed. Highly recommended.
Hi. I passed thru Burgos at Easter 3 years ago and stayed with a fellow pilgrim I met along the way who was from Burgos.
Had a fantastic time at the Easter parades. Never seen anything like that anywhere else in the world. And boy, can the locals play.
Worth timing your Camino to be there for...
I’m sooo jealous. My plan was to walk from Lisbon to SdC then Finisterre about now but this damn virus made leaving Australia impossible. Enjoy your Camino.
i look forward to following your progress.
Buen Camino
I absolutely loved Burgos when I passed through there at Easter 2018. A pilgrim I met lived in Burgos and invited me to stay at his home. We had a magic time - Burgos is famous for its Easter parades and afterwards, boy can the locals play!!!
It’s a fantastic tune which has been around for a while now.
once it’s in your head it’s there forever.
He put an album out late last year - called Duende.
Dan,s a great guy.
I did a podcast of my Camino SF with him two years ago.
Wow, this topic has taken off!
I must admit I was a little miffed encountered pilgrims who were bussing across the Meseta or joining for the last 100km.
Bit then I remembered the Camino is very much a personal thing. How you complete your Camino is very much up to you. As long as you meet the...
The Camino does that. Don’t be surprised! I did Camino Frances in March/April 2018 and was stunned at the number of Christmas wishes I received before Christmas form people I walked with at various times. It’s a special activity which brings out the best in people.
