Congratulations Tassie Kaz, this was an amazing accomplishment. I do recall you writing about your shin splints earlier on the forum and I could sympathize as I too had that experience on Le Puy Camino. So I am super excited that you overcame that and you were able to continue your travels. My...
I will agree with several other writers and second, third & more the suggestion of Jean Francois’s BnB at Maison Donamaria. He is such a gentle soul who is very familiar with hiking the Camino. He and his gorgeous dog will put you in the right frame of mind to start your Camino. We ended our...
Thank you Tim for all this information- it gives me so much help for planning. I look forward to actually getting to the walk. All the best for your next walk - it sounds fabulous and I'm sure will be amazing. Hopefully we will hear about it on this forum one day. kind regards Anne
Hi Roger,
I walked the Kumano Kodo with my husband and two friends last April. It was indeed a great experience and you will love it. It is very different to walking in Europe though. I agree with the comments that have already been posted but will add a few more.
Firstly it is a 'challenging'...
Firstly my apologies for not replying sooner- I did want to have the coffee and take the time your writings deserved so it has been only now that I have been able to do so. I enjoyed what you had to say very much and it was so informative so thank you so much for sharing all this knowledge. Did...
Thank you Timr for your feedback _ I would definitely be interested in reading about your 'beginners guide' when you get a chance to write it. All information from those who have walked before us is so invaluable.
My husband and I are also very interested in walking the Via Francigena and thinking of starting at the St Bernard Pass. Does anyone have any information as to whether this is feasible to start walking in April? Many thanks
My husband and I begin our Le Puy Camino at the end of September so it has been great reading all the above comments. I am a little concerned though that if this is not the 'high' season will the gites still be open and if not is there other accommodation available? We don't want to carry a tent.
Hi Rowena, I can relate to your post. My husband & I walked Camino Frances in 2015 as well and we too have succumbed to the draw of the Camino. We have now decided to walk Le Puy en Velay to SJPDP in September this yea like you did. We are both of 'mature years' and I am not sure if we have...
Thank you so much for your reply- I truly appreciate it especially all the effort you put into your answers. You have helped me considerably and made me feel a lot more settled about the idea. So much in fact that we have gone ahead & booked our return flights to Paris from Sydney so now we are...
Hi Doogman,I am seriously thinking
Dear Doogman, I noted that you walked the Le put route. My husband & I are very keen to walk the Le Puy to SJdPD route in October this year but I am having difficulty finding any information about this Camino. I would be very grateful if you have any tips as...
I walked the Camino France's last October/November with my husband and you do find your senses become finely tuned as a way of looking after your personal safety. We were quick to note the 'pilgrim' acting suspiciously and stopping when we stopped and watching us all the time- his lopsided...
