    Reflections on the Senda Litoral

Started late as breakfast was served at 8am and then farewelling a pilgrim walking the other direction. But I didn't walk long days and except for Caminha booked accommodation the night before so not much pressure.

    Caminha Ferry......

No ferry. best to book one of the water taxi services, a speedboat, basic operation and only about 5 minutes, 6 euros and then walk into A Guardo. About 30 minutes walk I think.

    Reflections on the Senda Litoral

I agree, I loved it. Very different to cf and yeah felt a bit guilty starting at 9.30am one morning.

    I'm looking for someone

She could be a member of a camino Facebook group of nzers or nzers and Australians. You could join and ask.

Options: what to do after arriving in Santiago

I took the bus to Muxia and spent time at the lighthouse and beach. Next day walked to Lires. Myself and another pilgrim missed the turnoff so did more road walking than we should have. Went to the beach. Then walked ro Finisterre and went to the beach. I wished I'd stayed two nights as I wasn't...

LIVE from the Camino FRANCÉS: Flies, spiders, isolation & roommates: not what I expected!

They were German and probably finished their camino by now. I know you are joking but perhaps you should have switched to the Portugeuse senda litoral and spent some time on a beach.

Should we give recommendations on the forum?

Almost killed me too. Everything is now in context of walking from SJPDP to Orisson. That is why I was surprised the so called killer climb on the spiritual from Combarro to Almenteira was such an anti-climax.

LIVE from the Camino FRANCÉS: Flies, spiders, isolation & roommates: not what I expected!

This is one of the most bizarre posts in this forum. I feel the camino frances is definitely becoming something which I didn't experience 5 years ago. Hmm do I want to rewalk it, yes but we'll see. I walked the camino portugeuse and met holiday makers, I.e. started at 2pm and stayed up...

    Bayonne late night arrival

The station is not open all night. Attached is a peak of the opening hours. Yes, there are concrete blocks out front but I would be worried about my safety. I am currently staying at Hostel 20 Bayonne. If they have a night watchman you could ask about sleeping a few hours for a few euros.

    Rethinking start date?

I must admit I am a bit selective where I stay and look for recent positive reviews on gronze, booking.com or word of mouth. As others said stopping in between stages helps, although if everyone is doing that perhaps it’s the inbetween places that are filling up.

Increased numbers on the Fisterra and Muxia routes

I recently walked Muxia to Finisterre and also spent night in Lires. Some albergues were full.

Mid 70 Male & Potential Issues

    Yes, definitely.

Mid 70 Male & Potential Issues

I usually go to the bathroom at least once a night, and try to do it quietly. In regards to sleep, I use silicone ear plugs and melatonin. You need to start using melatonin beforehand as it takes a while for it to be effective.

    Booking.com prices vs. Gronze

Sometimes it can be cheaper to book directly rather than more expensive.

    Booking.com prices vs. Gronze

I won't name and shame but an albergue on the portuguese is 3 euros cheaper on booking.com than its own website. The original rice is 30 euros which I thought high for a dorm bed.
