Just catching up on this thread...last year walked my 3rd Camino at the age of 70, and planning for another next year. As always, listen to your body, as when we were younger, walk when we feel strong, rest when we feel tired, enjoy each moment, and celebrate each person you meet. The world is...
I agree with SuefromVegas! Altra Olympus with the vibram sole is perfect for the rockier portions. Wide toe box is a plus. Very durable, wore them on the Frances last September and still going strong walking several days a week since.
I had a similar problem last summer...the train I wanted to take was greyed out on the time I wanted. There were 2 other trains that were available that day but the timing did not work. I was very concerned and posted on this forum and was counseled to wait, and about 30-35 days before the...
I agree with Dennis! Many thanks to the people of Spain, your welcoming encouragement with your greetings each day is wonderful. You will continue in my prayers!
Just did this actually...had a flight from Santiago to Madrid scheduled in the morning and a flight to United States in the afternoon. Flight from Santiago was cancelled so took the train a day before, spent the night and flight home was going to be 4 hours late so was rebooked, what a hassle...

landed in Madrid just the other day! Arrived from JFK in New York. Long walk to passport control 10-15 minutes, long line but moved well, about 30 minutes. Then long walk toward baggage claim but I had no checked bag. But then another line to check Spanish health QR code. About another 10...
UPDATE! Yes, the tickets were down loaded as of July 1 and we have booked out train trip from Barcelona to Pamplona! We will get transport then to San Jean Pied de Port and begin our Camino on the 19th of August! The good Lord willing and hoping our flights are not cancelled again! many...
