I worked as a tour leader in Asia for 12 years and used trekking poles most days as well as using them on three Caminos, and have used many brands and styles of trekking poles over the years. I recommend two poles (if you were thinking of just one). I prefer poles with a cork handle as I tend to...
Depending on the time you arrive, take the train. It’s comfortable and cheap at around €4 and takes around 45 mins. Regular buses run from the airport to Vigo city to connect to the train and take about 30 mins for around €1.50 from memory. Vigo tourist info office are very helpful and speak...
I walked from Lisbon last October/November and as it was end of season many places were closed, so yes I found it a little more expensive between Lisbon and Porto than the CF, but there were still many good value and lovely places. Most of the places I stayed at were private, but not too pricey...
I'm a little behind you -- I start from Lisbon next week. Good to know -- please keep posting updates (and suggestions of where you did stay if you have time!). Thank you.

I love my phone, and agree with PANO on it's usefulness, but fear the 'zombie apocalypse'. Sometimes I go to a restaurant and there are tables and tables of people not talking to each other, but looking at their phones. There is a time and a place... "and a time to every purpose under the heaven".
I will be starting my Camino is Paris at the begging of October 2014, cycling to St Jean via the Tours route, then walking the Camino Frances and hopefully on to Finisterre.
My Camino is self funded, but on my trip I am hoping to raise funds for Bumi Sehat, a health charity in Indonesia who...

Hi Fellow Pilgrims,
I have just started my Camino Blog. I've never blogged before, so it's a bit of a learning curve for me. Come to think of it I've never walked for more than a month before! I'm just in the planning stages, so my story so far will only be about that, as it's my first Camino...
