excellent points esseesee and all. Personally, I wouldn't want to do the whole trail by horse. I think you would have to be a serious equestrian for such an undertaking. I think it would be a cool way to do the final few days, and a great way to arrive in Santiago. I will be in South America for...- caballero

I'm planing on riding most of the route as well. I would like to start in Paris since biking the route gives so much more time to stay places and experience the towns.
