Via Francigena from Aquapendente to Rome
Hello, I am planning on hiking part of the Via Francigena from Aquapendente to Rome on the 8th or 9th or August with plans to finish around the 16, 17 or 18th. What's the Difference between a Pilgrimage and a Long Walk?
for me it's quite simple, a pilgrimage refers to a religious or spiritual journey or some kind (does not have to be a long walk)...I did not set out on a pilgrimage..I set out on a long distance hike...however, there is no way one can walk 800 km without having a spiritual experience!!- Caminobluzman

Perfect Timing or Foolhardy?
Hi Sarah! SO it looks like you are going to go for it! GREAT! I am long distance hiker and have done the Camino Frances in July as well..I gave some advice to friend who hiked it last year...I'll give you the same..LIGHT vented hiking shoes, not boots, not leather, some folk do it in trainers...- Caminobluzman
