Walked it in the rain September 2015, wet and slippery on the way up but I made it. I took it extra slow on the descent with no problems. Just remember to take your time coming down.
I wouldn't over train if I were you, I just completed the entire 500 miles and didn't really train that much. Just take it easy the first week and you can push it after that.

Hi Kevin, I am arriving to SJDP on Sept. 4th and staying at Gite Azkorria. I also have a reservation on the 5th for Orisson. I would like to meet up with September Pilgrims the evening of the 4th as well. Include me on your list.
I used Orisson's email and requested a reservation and heard back from them yesterday. They sent a request to pay by Pay Pal which I did. I received a receipt by email. It took about 2 weeks but they will contact you.
I am planning on buying poles after flight over, not sure I can take on plane if I carry on backpack. I will use them for sure after reading this thread.
