    Carry-on Size Backpack

    I have a Deuter 30L that expands to 40L. When not expanded, it is carryon size...then I pack food on the expandable part when trekking. Best wishes!

    Footwear

    I am a boot man myself...I like the added ankle support, especially on rocky surfaces. My Salomans are waterproof and have kept my feet dry during two quite rainy days here in England on a trek I am doing now. I wear rain pants that cover to ankle length over the boots.

    I used a thin tape that spread over my nose...I found it in a pharmacy. No one poked me with a trekking pole, so maybe it worked!

    Can you replace pacer pole rubber tips with leki rubber tips?

    If the tips you get are too big, a little duct tape around your pole tip will adapt in a pinch.
