Need help deciding on train station in pamplona

I am currently in Spain. Did the Atocha Madrid train to Pamplona and bus to SJPP. Only one train station in Pamplona. I have liked using the GoEuro app to buy my tickets and they scan your ticket off your phone except for the bus ticket, which needs to be printed. I think you could possibly...

    Do Trains Sell Out

Hey all, After a wonderful Camino experience last year, I am coming back this year to walk a different part with my daughter. We will fly into Madrid and site see in other cities before making our way to Saint Jean Pied de Port. Regarding our entire trip in Spain, is it prudent to pre-book...

    Fitness level

I found walking long distances on the Camino much easier than trying long distances at home. Maybe because of the beauty. Maybe because we stopped for breaks more often, but home training and walking the Camino are not the same.

    Pack help please.

I carried the 50L Osprey because it is what I already owned. It added a couple of pounds more than if I had a smaller pack but I didn't want to pay the money for another pack. I weigh 120 lbs and carried 20 lbs. I know that isn't the perfect formula, but it was fine. I didn't really buy anything...

    Backpack weight

I really loved having a money belt for my passports (Pilgrim and otherwise), money, phone, etc. It made everything readily available and allowed me to carry things around town in the evenings. I have this one, but there are smaller, cheaper ones available...

Coffee first thing in the morning

Not sure where you live, but I carried Starbuck's Instant on the Appalachian Trail and it tastes mighty close to brewed coffee—I did not feel like I was deprived at all. Available at any Starbuck and also at REI.

Yellow Flowers on the way to O Cebreiro

Can anyone tell me what the yellow flowers are on the road to O Cebreiro? I would post a picture but can't figure out how.

    Where to Start

We flew into Madrid, took the train to Ponferrada, and walked 10 days into Santiago. It was perfect. We could have walked it in 9 days but enjoyed our pace.

    Walking Poles

I am sure all the science and preference for the poles are accurate, but I have never hiked with poles in the US so did not take them on The Camino. I am not suggesting my hike wouldn't have been easier with them, but I felt fine without them.

Sending luggage from Pamplona to Santiago

We did this—shipped a suitcase from a Madrid post office to Ivar and he held it for us. It was a snap to pick up, very inexpensive, and we got to meet Ivar! :)

I am feeling sad to be home after my first Camino. Best thing my husband and I have ever done.

    How Long Through the Airport

I hadn't even thought of it, Laurie. It will be a small suitcase. After our Camino, my husband has to fly directly to another continent for a previous commitment, and he needs a different sort of clothes. I only chose Correo because folks on this forum told me about it. I have no idea how much...
