    A group of us at an albergue were able to jointly hire a local for the drive back. I can't remember how much, but it was affordable. Four new people and great conversation!

    Cold water wash is not the thing to do at the beginning. Soak it in hot water with dissolved salt(without iodine!) for about 30 minutes. Then hot water wash and rinse in a machine.     I'm a bit baffled by folks saying they can't take knitting needles on a plane. I have taken them on every plane I've ever been on with no trouble at all. USA and Europe. For the Camino I take a lightweight bamboo circular needle and lightweight yarn to make a scarf so I'm not adding much weight...

    Wise Pilgrim has just published paper editions of their guide and it is much better than what I could find(in English) when I walked del Norte in 2016.
