My vote is with Burgos. By then your body would have endured the beginning and you should have a good idea when you will get there. He can walk with you for those 4-5 days after which is very nice country as others mentioned. Buen Camino!
I regret washing my shoes on the first day. All it did was give me WETTER shoes until I was past Pamplona. Let them self-clean while you walk. To this day (8 years later), that was the first and last time I cleaned those shoes!

I encountered one of them 2 days ago outside Fonfria. The Guardia civil was hot on her trail. I gave them a full description and told them they were 8 minutes behind her. She did not look Spanish, but Central American.
