@Magwood I enjoyed reading your blog entries for the two sections Santander - Soto de la Marina and Soto. de la Marina to Santillana. Gives me a good idea of what to expect for these stages. Your writing and pictures are great.
Thanks Magwood. Love your approach to stay on the train till Barreda. Right now, I am leaning towards that. I will also check out your blog - thanks for the link! Since @David with new Kit! also seconded that! It gets us to Santilllana without more nights in between stages (Santander to...
@Vaughan Thanks for the specific data point from your GPS tracker. That's helpful information.
@Antonius Vaessen - Your response was ideal as my wife and I didn't really want to walk through some of this beautiful scenery in a rushed day. Thus, I have just booked a night at the Hotel Costa San...
Hi All,
My wife and I are on the Camino del Norte right now in Islares. I am reading ahead and noted the 31.7km coastal route option between Santander and Boo (#5 in Peregrina2000's originating post). We are slow walkers, and find that if there's a mountainous stretch we make very slow progress...
Hi,
As we know, some albergues do not take bed reservations, as it's a first come, first served basis. Question, is it permissible to have a luggage transfer deliver to said albergue, and if there's no bed, pick up bags to go elsewhere? Or do lodging managers/owners, be it albergues, pensions...
Here's the Correos web site (in English). By booking for my party plus 5 stops in advance (we had pre-booked accommodation), I was able to get a discount off the daily rate. For a group of 4 x 5 days, that was Euro 20 in 2019.

One other thing I love...
Andy,
Thanks for confirming the coastal routes are now in the three apps.
I am new to Buen Camino, Wise Pilgrim and mapy.cz. Does anyone stand out or that you would recommend over the other two?
@peregrina2000
Do you know if your coastal routes are detailed in the map.cz app? That would be an alternative to downloading your coastal maps per your thread in

I was on a return flight from Mexico in late March. Based on my airline's web site, I went with one of their recommended Covid online telehealth provider. Fortunately, latter uses one of the US Govt's supplied home test kit. So, I just paid $20 for the video observation. The results were then...
Thank you for this clarification. In USA, we don't regard vaccination certificates as expiring 270 days after the primary series/2 doses. Even if the vaccinated opts out of the booster, their vaccination certificate is still regarded as valid (re entry into premises when vaccination certificates...
Good point as it has been reported that some countries are already planning a 2nd booster shot for the vulnerable segments (e.g. more than 75 years old, etc). The drug companies are also working on vaccine modifications.
Net, I think the definitive response is when one applies for the Spanish...
Looking forward to @Kathar1na response.
Here's what I found from a travel site (i.e. not governmental):
"Fully vaccinated U.S. citizens are able to continue traveling freely to Spain as tourists, so long as they provide proof of a COVID-19 booster shot administered within 14-270 days of...
I was planning Norte late Sept onwards. But I just found out today that if one's booster shot (or second vaccination) is more than 270 days old (9 months), one is no longer regarded as vaccinated. For Americans, here's the link to the information from US Embassy in Spain. I will have to monitor...
Just type in "Camino de Santiago 4.0" into FB Search box, and it will pull up his FB Group page.
