Hello to all out there Reading this,
my name is Darren, I'm Irish but live and work near Liverpool in the UK and i love to cycle, mostly road racing, sportifs and endurance racing, but these days im more in to the leisurely side of biking. next year I've decided to return to Spain and complete my third Camino for my 50th birthday. And my long suffering girlfriend has decided to join me this time. We’re hoping to be en route by early June travelling from the uk to Spain via Bilbao and then catching the train to Pamplona and starting our tour from there.
I'm interested in hearing from any recent pilgrims with any relevant information as it will have been 6 years since I last was on the route and I’m guessing some things have changed.
I'm still very much at the planning stage, so grateful for any info...
We’re looking to cover 50 to 70 km per day as my girlfriend is a novice to multi day touring and I’m really wanting her to have a positive experience and not completely scare her off cycling ever again after this trip.
If there are any other cyclists out there that are planning to do the same and you feel like joining us for part or all of our journey then please be my guest.. let’s know your dates
looking forwards to hearing from you
