Dave, wonder how many on here even know what your Badge is? Few. If any.

I never tell anyone on the Camino I am retired Army. Army '64 - '94.
      Aviation then MI.

Flew UH-1s in Vietnam. Retired WO.

Seeing you are from WA...guess was at Fort Lewis before.

Again, when I am on the Camino I never tell anyone I am retired. Or my past.

Grew up in Spain. College states. US Army. Back in Spain now.

I live in the rural and mountainous area of North Central Washington State.

At age 18, I served in the military during Vietnam as a Flight Medic aboard the UH-1H Huey. I am grateful that I had that opportunity to be of service to my Country.

I hold degrees in health education, drama, and language arts. I taught 7th grade for a few years before continuing my education to become a licensed Midwife and opened a private practice. Eventually, I took a position with the Chelan-Douglas Health District.

In 2003, I left my position of 17 years as the Director of Health Education for that health district. On October 16, 2004 I opened the doors to my barbecue restaurant.

In 2008, I sold the restaurant for a good profit and decided to attend Bates to become a commercial trucker as a post-retirement career.

My greatest achievement to-date, bar none, is being the father of my three boys, Caleb, Jared, and Ethan; and two daughters, Jaylene and Bethany.

My interests include backpacking, American history, woodworking, cooking, raising parrotlets, home theater, and traveling around America. I enjoy reading, walking in the nearby hills, target shooting, political debate, and autumn.
