  • Hello. I'm happy to be here. I've never done the Camino before. I'm planning on Spring 2018 - March/April. Please write me with any advice, or just to write to me :) Thanks, Deb

I was nervous and anxious as everyone is on their first camino. Very few of us embrace uncertainty and the first couple of days have quite a bit of that. Navigating foreign airports and foreign languages (I spent a few days in Paris before the Camino), taxis and buses or trains (I don't even know how to use public transportation (Buses and Trains) in the USA much less Spain and France.

It all works out. Just ask...people are friendly and helpful everywhere and most speak english better than we speak their language...and being an attractive blonde with a beautiful smile will not hurt. This was the most stressful part of my trip, just getting to SJPDP. The second biggest issue I had and it is minor is figuring out how to organize my backpack.

After a week of walking I just resigned myself to taking everything out of the pack upon arrival at the Albergue and upon departure just stuffing it all back in.

    Buen Camino Deb!!
    Sincerely Tim
