I can’t help re the taxi as I walked it. It was not at all far and an easy and lovely walk. Had a stroll around Valenca and then across the bridge and into Tui.
I would stay in Biarritz on the coast. Nice little town, cozy Inns, friendly people.
But why do you stress? I flew in, took the evening train, picked up my credential, went to an Albergue and on the next morning I sat with a dozend other pilgrims...
Interesting! I'm from Spain and never heard the word "palo" used like that. A lemon tree is a "limonero" and a shot of any drink is "un chupito" over here.
That reminds me of the newest REI backpacking product,
"Dehydrated water" , no weight and no space taken, just add
a bit of hydrogen and some oxygen and whala , water!
I think this plan looks fantastic, I keep raving on here about how much I loved the Invierno. You planning on staying at the new albergue in A Pobra? Next time I walk it, I think I might rejig things and stay in the Diomondi albergue.
All will be fine embrace the freedom the Camino gives you; don't worry if you need an angel you will find one i found loads:)
