Travelling from Bercianos to Santiago (via bus or train)

I will be serving as a Hospitalero in Bercianos from June 1 to June 15 and then would like to spend a few days in Santiago before flying back home. What is the best bus or train route to go from Bercianos to Santiago? Any idea how long it takes? Times? Thanks, dan

Is 42 days for SJPDP to Finisterre too long?

As others have said it depends I. Walking speed and the amount of time you want to walk each day. I’d suggest you read other pilgrims blogs to see how others have done the walk. I did it in about 33 days, but I walked long days. Here’s my blog if you are interested...

Is it okay to want to walk the Frances alone?

I walked alone the entire Frances from SJPP to Finnesterre. It was great. No compromises. You do what you want to do. Somedays, I would walk further when I felt like I could.

    Packing List - What's missing?

I used my small clothesline rope nearly every day. I would string it on the bunk bed above me every night to allow clothes to dry if not dry by the time the sun was going down. It also served as a nice barrier when beds were pushed next to each other and you had someone else just a pillow away.

    Del Norte guides

I am planning to walk the Norte this fall. I have three guides: Cicerone, Village to Village, and Wise Pilgrim. For a small guide, the Village to Village guide is great; only 96 pages. The Wise Pilgrim guide is also relatively small at 179 pages. Cicerone is the largest 318 pages. I'm...

Good cheap gloves for wet conditions?

Last fall it was really rainy and cold. I ended up buying the largest size of dishwashing kitchen gloves, completely waterproof. They were great and cheap. If you have a thin glove liner, you can wear them underneath.
