  • These short messages are a pain! Meant to say GPX (Global Positioning Exchange) are preferred by hand held GPS units rather than smartphones and ipads/tablets.
    If it doesn't work I can do you a little illustrated guide step by step but remember: load maps first then routes!

    What you need to do is email yourself with the KMZ file as an attachment. Open the email on the device which has maps.me on it. When you click on the attachment you should be asked which App you want to open the attachment and be given the choice of Maps.Me click on it and you should get the route on the map. Let me know if that works.
    Hi there - yes, it can be a little confusing at first but once you get in the swing of things you'll be fine.
    First, you say that you've downloaded the app on your machine. Have you downloaded the maps that cover the area in which you'll be walking?Second, have you downloaded the route files? There are two types KMZ (Keyhole Markup Zipped) which Maps.me (and Google Earth) loves and GPX (Global Positioning Exchange)
