    Overweight on the Frances?

    There is overweight and there is oversize. There were some tiny bathrooms and shower stalls in some of the places I stayed in on the Portuguese Camino. Focus on getting fit and toning up. The Camino has room for everyone and you go at your own pace. Good luck!

    Foot Care

    Before setting off, a generous application of petroleum jelly and then wear sock liner and wool socks. Stop if you get hot spots on your feet (sign of blister developing); rest, air, massage, change socks before moving on.

    My first hike on the Camino de Santiago. Planning to start from Porto following the Senda Litoral to Vila do Conde. From there switch to the Central route via Arcos. Traveling solo but don’t intend to travel in isolation.
