My blog is here and includes brief descriptions of the Lourdes to SJDPP walk, time it took, where I stayed and I believe there are references to the weather : (leave out the spaces when typing the URL) dncamino . wordpress . com I haven’t posted photos in the Lourdes to SJDPP posts but still...
I’ve just finished walking in rain (sometimes cold, sometimes warm) and have mixed feelings about my Altus Poncho. During warm wet weather, it turns into a sauna inside due, in part, to the lack of armpit venting which I think it needs. However my pack was dry and it is easy to put on quickly...
I really appreciate your response. Beginning to wonder if I should start in Sarria on the CF. Even if I walk as fast as I can, I will soon be left behind. So starting early only gives me company for a while. Thanks.
Thanks for posting this. I’m heading for the Portuguese Way in less than a week though starting from Tui. Although I realize this happened (flasher) before Tui, I am concerned about walking alone. I am hoping to find someone to walk with at least some of the time. As you’ve just finished, can...
For now, the goal is SJPDP. Once there, I’ll decide if I’m going further. Time is a consideration. Might do the last 100 km from somewhere or might save completion for another trip. I read the post that followed mine and agree completely with the comments.
Hi there. This isn’t an answer to your question but it might be helpful. I am currently walking from Lourdes to SJPDP and have a blog with photos. Today I am staying at a gîte just past Bruges. Tomorrow I will be in Arudy at the Maison Paroissiale. There have been some challenges especially as I...
I’m writing about my walk in a WordPress blog here: dncamino . Wordpress . com. Won’t be at Lourdes for quite a while as start was at Gruissan, France on the Mediterranean coast. At the moment I am in Carcassonne which is on the Arles Way.
I’m just a few days away from beginning to walk the Piemont Route which will include Lourdes to St. Jean Pied de Port as the the final section. I’d be happy to share my experience if that helps. I expect to be doing the Lourdes to SJDPP portion in October.
Hi, I've just found this post and am very interested in your notes about the walk from Narbonne to SJPP. I am starting this very same walk in three weeks (Sept 19, 2018). It is my first Camino experience. My hiking companions all speak French but I do not. I would love to have your notes to...
Do you know if there is a similar service in SJPP? I am starting in Narbonne and ending (this year) in SJPP. I plan to return next year and walk from SJPP to Santiago. I am bringing things with me that I will need post-walk. So I would like (if possible) to send a package ahead to SJPP...
Just wondering how quickly you can make one of these and if you are willing to do so in a bit of a rush? I'm in Canada and leaving on September 15 for France. I also realize that where you are geographically versus where I am might put a damper on things even if you were willing to put one...
