How well is The Norte marked?

Cities were sometimes a bit vague. I found Cantabria not as well marked as the rest. Basque region was very good. That said, I had maps.me with the track open for times of confusion.

    2nd Camino-portugues

Merry Christmas! I did the CP starting May 25 from Porto. I loved the walk. If you'd like to see photographs I've posted them in daily albums and they can be found here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/drawstring/collections/72157672907956844/

Recommendations for a place to stay in Barcelona

I stayed at the university residence. Ruas. 5 min from the beach, close to a lot of nice things. Cheap as chips. If you can, have a meal at Tapeo. Alan

    2nd Camino-portugues

I flew from Toronto to London and then a $50 easyjet flight to Porto. 3 days in Porto, staying at the university dorm for €24 a night. I walked the coastal route all the way. It was wonderful. Had a rest day in Vigo. I'd recommend carrying 2 litres water as earlier sections were lacking in bars...

How to get to the Santiago airport at 4 am?

I had my hotel book a taxi for 5:45am. 20 min drive. €21. Airport is beautiful with good food available.

Camera card disaster in Carrión today... help?!

Well even if it isn't free, I'd be willing to pay to get my pictures. The card producer is likely a good option to try? Alan

Need a larger backpack - advice please

I used an Osprey Talon33 this year on the Portuguese Camino. Good pack for me. 5kg total plus 2 kg water. I could have fit hiking boots in if needed. I used trail shoes and had a pair of plastic sandals strung outside. I'll admit I seem to be blessed with good feet. Travel light. Alan

I need opinions on Second Camino

I completed the coastal route from Porto in late May this year. My first Camino. It is beautiful. Alan

Camera card disaster in Carrión today... help?!

Cards can go flakey. I've heard the card manufacturer will do a recover for no charge. To help with loss I take a picture of my contact info and protect it so it's always there if an honest person finds camera or card. Alan

Nervous first-time pilgrim - Camino Portugues July 2016

I don't know anything about Fatima. Try the site rome2rio maybe. I have not looked into camping on the Camino. Alan

Nervous first-time pilgrim - Camino Portugues July 2016

I managed to book next day rooms mostly in late May to early June. I think that would be more difficult with the summer season upon us. Alan

Nervous first-time pilgrim - Camino Portugues July 2016

My only experience is the coastal, but think most bars/cafes would call for an uber taxi if asked. I saw signs posted for taxis aimed at pilgrims. That said, I could walk 4-5 hours without seeing a cafe. Perhaps have a number handy. Alan

Nervous first-time pilgrim - Camino Portugues July 2016

I t I think in an early section we strayed too far east of the highway. Also important perhaps is to be slightly aware of when the last mark was seen. Sometimes it's good to backtrack to it rather than continuing on. It's a lovely walk, I especially liked Oia and Vigo. Le Guarda is pretty good...

Nervous first-time pilgrim - Camino Portugues July 2016

Liana, Some sections are well marked, others maybe not as well. I was with 2 experienced walkers and we went astray sometimes. There are some quite isolated forest routes which I think it'd be better to have a few people together. The latter stages are pretty straightforward. I'll have a better...
