Wow, looks amazing. Your posts have already helped me plan and think about this route. I will walk it with my son (we both have a few Caminos under our belts). Now looking at the end of August as a possible, good time to walk. Thanks again
My son and I chatted to a Mexican Pilgrim in the Albergue in Santander. He was carrying a surfboard and a guitar and, like us was walking the del Norte. We never seen him again
Thanks for your update and information about Vilar de Barrio. I am in the cracking new Albergue in A Gudina tonight and was thinking about staying in Vilar on Tuesday….which now looks good. Thanks again

I walked the Frances last year with a frameless Montbell Versalite 30L pack. I had no issues or problems and I have handed my Osprey into the Charity Shop. I am starting the Via Serrana on Saturday and have the Montbell as does my walking companion.
Definitely. I lost my glasses and contact lens on the same night. Next morning in Zafra, I found an Optican who was able to make me new glasses that day. I picked them up as scheduled at 4pm, paid, ( not cheap) and very grateful that I could continue and finish my Camino
