MI'M on the wet, muddy Camino now and I am SO happy to have my Chako hiking boots! I couldn't imagine doing this in trainers or my Teva hiking sandals. Just my 2 cents!

Leaving tonite, flying to Casablanca and working our way up from there, next avail. flight to London was May 8th :( So, we're coming our way, and learning lessons from the Camino already!!! :P

I'm in Abu Dhabi and we were suppose to fly to Heathrow last night, of course it was cancelled.
We are now rebooked to fly to Casablanca on Friday night, take train to Tangier, then ferry to Gibraltar, not sure how to get to Pamplona from there... any suggestions?
I've come to the conclusion...
Hilda... the midwife in me says to PUT ON YOUR BIG GIRL PANTIES AND JUST DO IT!
The mother in me says YOU CAN DO THIS... HAVE FAITH!
I think accomplishing this walk would be excellent for your emotional and physical health. Don't think about it, just make the plans, pack your bag and go!

Leaving SJPP 22 April 2010
I say GO FOR IT! I'm a mom to 3 kids in their 20's and think you'll do just fine!
The summer I was 16, my friend and I drove all the way from Florida to Massachusettes in my Oldsmobile... stopping off in all the big cities along the way, D.C., N.Y., Boston... I then spent the summer traveling...
Well, I'm an American hitting the Camino this year and excited to do so. But I think many of you are right... a lot of Americans don't travel out of the country. There is so much to do and see in the U.S.!
Additionally, we don't get the paid holiday time off that most Europeans do. I am working...
I have tried to search this and keep being told that it is too common to be searched
So I'm trying to get an idea of what the temps are in late April and through May. We arrive in SJPDP on 21 April.
Thanks in advance!
Sandi
Will arrive April 25th and have to be back at work May 30th, hoping to walk the entire Frances route from SJPDP to Santiago in those 33 days or so.
This will be my first walk. Training wearing hiking boots, start with backpack in February.
Can't wait!!!
Hi there! My name is Sandi. I will be walking the Frances on the above dates with my friend Lucy. I have been reading the forum for months and am happy about the amount of information all of you have shared (good and bad!).
Looking forward to the trip and meeting new people!
