The Camino Primitivo-Oviedo to Santiago (11 days)

Wow! That is super impressive! The Hospitales route was my absolute favourite day ( and the hardest) on the Primitivo. No way could I have done it in 11 days! Well done

    Diatomaceous earth

A friend of mine uses it for cat fleas in her house, and it works brilliantly.

    Diatomaceous earth

Apparently, inhaling food grade DE is no worse than inhaling dust. You still wouldn't want to do it if you could help it of course !

    Diatomaceous earth

Welcome to the forum! So sorry to hear about your ordeal. That is exactly the kind of experience we are all trying to avoid, and why we have to be so careful with our stuff when we get home!

    Diatomaceous earth

A few Gite's on the Le Puy route are using Diatomaceous earth, in the fight against bedbugs. "Here’s how diatomaceous earth works: each particle of DE contains microscopic sharp edges. When bed bugs are exposed to these sharp edges, their exoskeletons are eviscerated. Once the exoskeletons are...

The good, the bad and the ugly!

What a lovely story. There is no one on the desk now. You put the money in an honesty box. It feels very delapidated. The worst part, for me ( apart from the bed bugs) , is that the toilets are down some steps outside across the courtyard, and it was raining! There is a sweet kitchen area up...

The good, the bad and the ugly!

Thank you dear Theatregal! To think that I didn't believe bed bugs existed when we walked five years ago! As usual, all our stuff is in the shed awaiting the freezer treatment, although I think we're clear of them now. If I can work out how to, I will post some photos !

Accommodations between Le Puy and Conques

Highly recommend La Grange, at Monbonnet, lovely clean accommodation, and great food. Also and especially Domaine de Sauvages, a well run, well thought out special place that supports local farmers.

Train from Lyons to Le Puy

The blablacar worked brilliantly. We met a lovely couple who drive regularly between Lyons and Le Puy. It went smoothly, and cost us 10 euros each.

The good, the bad and the ugly!

A beautiful route ( the parts we walked ) ! More a " walkers" route , than a pilgrimage, and mostly French walkers. Loved the compost toilets, and picnic spots. Stayed in some great Gite's, very clean, with fantastic four course meals. The demi-pension option is brilliant. Good idea to stock...
