Best app to accurately record distances, elevation and descent per day

I love my Garmin Fenix watch/Garmin Connect. . . . Something else I own, that most of the features on are a mystery to me. 🤣 Wouldn't leave it at home though . . .

Small juicer, vegetarians and heating element?

I understand your concerns to a point, but the Spanish make great salads. It's not known as 'the salad bowl of Europe' for nothing. With a bit of basic Spanish you can check the ingredients, and get them to omit anything you don't want. Not sure if this helps or not 🤔

    What about “té con leche”?😀

It's a bit like trying to get a decent coffee from any café where I live in the UK. . . 🤣 When in Rome etc etc

Avoiding the Crowd on the last 5 stages. Where to stay

You don't say which Camino you are walking. I'm guessing the CF, but don't want to presume.

Backpack is 2 kg too heavy TwT

    Weight is weight though . . . 😉

Backpack is 2 kg too heavy TwT

Slightly surprised that you only weighed the pack the day before you travelled 😮. They have shops in Europe ( energy bars??!) Don't forget water comes in at 1kg per litre. Would cull clothing down somewhat as you pretty much have the option of doing laundry every day. The last (positive) point...

    want solitude

Do the Camino del Norte instead of the Frances would be my advice . . . It's pretty much the same distance, but a lot less popular

Are there Book swaps on the Camino. What book would you take.

Is that the method pilgrims used to message each other before WhatsApp 🤣

    Poles or No Poles?

    Simply the best imho

Are there Book swaps on the Camino. What book would you take.

Travels with my Donkey by Tim Moore is a very funny read. Autobiographical book about the author deciding that the only 'authentic' way to walk the Camino Frances, is to do it in the company of a donkey ( this is despite having no clue how to look after said donkey) I read it before my first...

Can I pack my small multi tool in carry on luggage (backpack)?

This has brought back great memories of being in the debating society when I was around 15 years old. .

    €12000 fine on Route Napoleon?

If you don't attempt the Napoleon route when it is legally closed, none of the details actually matter. Next! 😉🤣

Question about stages and accomodation: Labruja, Armenteira

You can stay at the monastery if they have space available, but it is not possible to book anymore. Obviously, you stand more chance if you are only looking for one bed rather than 4, but, even then, there are no guarantees. . .

What do you wash your clothes with

I use a a product called 'Wilderness Wash' which is designed for just that. A bonus is that it contains citronella that deters mosquitos etc. It's available on Amazon if you need a full description/plan on buying some 👍

What do you wish you had worried less about?

I thought I was 'match-fit' when I started the Camino Frances back in 2016. . . Then the Pyrenees happened. . . it turned out having a bed booked at Orisson was the most important decision of the whole 6-week Camino. ( sort of blows the whole 'don't plan anything before you go' advice . . . )
