You are pretty well off in Australia with 4 weeks off. I won't get that until 20 years with the company. I'm at 7 years now. However I too can save up to 240 hours but I don't have to figure in weekends. That would be about 42 days off for me. Should be plenty. Now to just save it...
Folks talked about most things to adjust, but I would look at your books and tech gadgets. I have an android but you could look to finding your books as an iPod app and put them there. If apple has a Nook reader for your iPod then you could drop the heavier tablet and deal with the iPod alone...
I have Crohn's Disease and don't go far without Imodium . If you can't do Imodium there is a pill form of Kaopectate available. For me it works better than Pepto but is not as strong as Imodium.
Re: Are there sleeping "rooms" at Paris de Gualle?
Kayak.com showed the Ibis hotel at the airport for about $120 for one night. Probably the least expensive directly at the airport.
Re: Are there sleeping "rooms" at Paris de Gualle?
There used to be small rooms (bed, bath, shower) called Cocoon in the 90's but a Fodors report from 2010 said it had closed. Don't know of anyplace now.

If you are looking for a longer pilgrimage you could contemplate the Via Francigena and, living in Scotland, go from Home to Rome.
Though I personally don't find the Camino boring, planning for and going on a different pilgrimage you will be not be "boring" people about your return to Spain but...
Haven't checked on it myself but surely all the information you seek must available in a digital format. Carry one smartphone and done. Cuts down the weight even with a charger.
Can be a used and without a sim card if you don't want it for phone contact along your Camino. It only has to carry...
Maybe we can recommend some easy to use apps. What type of phone are you planning on getting?

I haven't bee yet myself but I've read over and over about people taking a bus or taxi if they find themselves behind. I say to take it at what ever pace you feel comfortable in and really listen to your body. Running and swimming aren't done everyday for a month with a pack on your back.
Take...
Great topic.
I am one of the "future" pilgrims. I am on the email list for the chapter here in Orlando but have been unable to attend any meetings up to now. I hope to change that in the near future.
Tony.

The topic was asked and discussed under Camino Frances beginning in January 2012 with the last post in September. http://www.caminodesantiago.me/board/viewtopic.php?t=12556
However, I am one who doesn't mind talking about things over again. Since September we have new members, some of whom have...
I have Tapatalk Pro but have started connecting with Ivars new forum branded Tapatalk and now get Google ads at the bottom of my screen. These ads are annoying and if they look similar I feel your pain. So far the ads have all been religious based. If they become more annoying or change to...
Looking at the kilometers from the home page they look fairly close. Your mileage may vary depending on alternates and side trips you may undertake.
