Advice of those who have walked May/June

We started with 11 degrees in Roncesvalles and 14 days later we arrived at 2 pm at 37 degrees. So best would be in my opinion the onion-look. Zipper trousers, different layers a convertible buff. Most helpful was my Euro Schirm. I used on hard rainy days and it was lifesaving in the hot sun.

Has anyone used a trekking umbrella?

During the hot days, I just survived using the Euroschirm. Some peregrines asked me where to buy the so much wanted shadow. One peregrine which I met often on my way named me the Shadow Lady. At the beginning of our Camino, we had 3 rain days with strong winds. It was wonderful to stay dry and...

There might be a problem with the old people but English is common in Elementary school and goes further till the end of any school. You will always find anyone who does understand and can help if...

    Burgos

We walked there today. Follow the road oft the left side. There are yellow signs and shells. Look close and if you have time walk to the bar at the Hospital where the bus stopps and ask the friendly owner there. Hope to meet you in my favorite place -the meseta.

    Villafranca

We stopped there last year and had the same wonderful experience as you describe. It is a MUSST to rest there or stay over night. They didn`t had a sello at that time and painted a sello instead of stamping. A very lovely family and a great place to eat and stay.

Thank you for this explanation. I remember that I understood most if the spanish people spoke slowly with me. But when we entered Galicia I had the feeling to be in another foreign country. It was a bit strange for me. Till yesterday they walked with jackets all day long. It seems to be much...
