GuyA reacted to Tincatinker's post in the thread Folding up an Altus? with Haha Haha.
Have you ever tried to put a tent back into the ludicrously small bag it came in? Your Altus stuff-sack has done you a favour. It assessed your stress levels and concluded they required no further enhancement. Just roll the damned thing into...

GuyA reacted to peregrina2000's post in the thread Shoes for the Salvador with Like Like.
I have worn my trail runners on the Salvador/Primitivo several times, no problem. The Salvador has a few long stretches of asphalt, and I think your feet will be happier in shoes with more cushion.

GuyA reacted to davebugg's post in the thread Two pilgrims trapped in tree by a cow with Haha Haha.

GuyA reacted to Camino Chrissy's post in the thread Lucca to Rome - a retrospective with Like Like.
I walked the Via Francigena from Lucca in the fall of 2022 and I loved it all! I speak no Italian, carried my own pack, and had good weather overall. There was a lot of climbing of rolling ups and downs often and they were tiring, but the vast...

We have had threads like this in the past, so before I take the time to think about how to answer your questions from my own vantage point, I would just like to post a “preemptive strike.” If you are not concerned about these issues, please just...

GuyA reacted to Anniesantiago's post in the thread When Posting Reviews on Gronze . . . with Like Like.
I just need to vent here a minute. I've been booking lodgings for my next Camino (not my group, but my own). I would like to ask people who post reviews, especially on pilgrim sites such as Gronze, to remember where they are and what they are...

A lucky escape. It pays to keep your eyes wide open and to stay focused. Walking long distances over rough terrain is no joke. I’m glad they were rescued.

GuyA reacted to peregrina2000's post in the thread Training with Weighted Vests with Like Like.
I think it’s great training to add weight to simulate the backpack. But I think I would prefer just walking with my actual pack on. That’s because I know that having 12 pounds weight pulling directly on my shoulders (if this is a vest without a...
