What time do albergues fill up?
Hi John My wife and I walked in April this year and saw no rush for albergue beds as reportedly happens on Camino Frances. As a back up there is usually other accommodation available, but costs more. However, it may be a seasonal thing in any given year and 2010 being a Holy Year may see more...- hartie50

Help! I'm terrified of dogs! What to do?
Hi - My wife and I walked the Silver Route in April and had no encounters with dogs that were threatening. The Spanish tend to chain their dogs (a whole other story!). I would not consider dogs an issue that you need to worry about at all. Buen camino.- hartie50

Weather in April
My wife and I will be walking from Merida in late March 2009, arriving Santiago early May. We are Australian so expect the weather will be cool by our standards. How have others found it at that time and what warmer clothing or wet weather gear do you recommend?- hartie50
