    Flights out of Santiago

All that really matters is that the carriers involved have interline agreements. If so, they can be ticketed together. By definition all airlines in the same alliance have interline agreements with each other.

    Flights out of Santiago

Multiple airlines can be combined on a single ticket. Such connections are protected. However if combining airlines I would only book such a ticket directly with one of those airlines, not through a third party.

Feedback on packing would be (really) appreciated.

+1 Ditch the paracord. Every albergue I stayed at on the CF had a line somewhere to hang clothes and towels.

SJPP to Santiago in 30 days?

Personally I didn’t feel like my body had really adapted until I reached Logrono but YMMV. I’m 32 and very overweight so you might reach that point faster.

    Trail Condition - before Molinaseca

I took a cab from El Acebo to Molinaseca and was very glad I did after hearing about peoples’ injuries at the next albergue.

Any chance of a store with men’s Hoka Speedgoats in Leon?

I'm surprised they're wearing out so fast. I wore the same shoe on the camino and it was still going strong when I reached SdC (other than being very very dirty). Are they getting overly wet? When you get the new pair, might help to stuff some newspaper in them at night so they dry out more.

Any chance of a store with men’s Hoka Speedgoats in Leon?

I saw them at El Corte Ingles in Leon just last month.

Opening new credit card for the bonus (plus airlines question)

In general, upgrading with points is a bad deal compared to redeeming points for business class outright.

Opening new credit card for the bonus (plus airlines question)

I used points to get to my camino. I've been churning credit cards for over a decade and have burned through about 3 million airline miles and hotel points. I redeemed 57k American Airlines miles for a flight from Denver to London via Dallas and 68k United miles for a flight from Frankfurt...

Bed bugs & getting rid of gear

Cortisone didn't do much for me either when I encountered some bed bugs on the CF last month, but I went into a farmacia and said "chinche de cama" and they gave me a cream of some sort (I forget the active ingredient) which worked well enough. Holding an ice cube on it can provide some...

Absentee voting while on the Camino?

Have you contacted your county clerk? They might be able to send your ballot to a Correos office to be held. My county sends out overseas ballots on September 23 so there's plenty of time.

LIVE from the Camino Losing motivation after believing you can finish

Thank you Doug! I will admit I've already started thinking about my next Camino, but I have a dog now so that complicates things. That was indeed gorgeous. I spend the night in Las Herrerias and rode a horse up to O Cebreiro. Thank you! I definitely dealt with some injuries along the way...

    Withdrawing Euros

I’m guessing you’re an American if you’re using Chase. Best approach is to get one of the various debit cards on the market that refund third-party ATM fees and don’t charge foreign transaction fees, like Schwab. That way you get the interbank currency rate which is as good as it gets.

    Shoe problem

What happens if you stretch your calves and soles? I get cramps in the soles of my feet if I don’t stretch enough.

Random thing that made you smile on Camino?

An old man offering garlic bread to pilgrims just before Lorca. The dog at the pizza place run by an American shortly before Las Herrerias.
