Yes we have. We have the Lightfoot Guide, the Confraternity Pilgrims to Rome PDF, and a couple refrence materials but what we need is first hand experience and advice.
We are currently on the trail walking from Canterbury to Laussane. We have all literature, accomodation lists and as much accomadation information as possible but, other than hotels which seem to be plentiful, we are having issues finding cheaper options such as monastaries. We are currently in...
My husband and I are planning on starting out from London in May 2022 and walking to Lausanne after which we are going to R&R for a few days before coming home. Has anyone ever shipped extra luggage from London to Lausanne and stored for the weeks that it will take to walk the distance?
We just flew from Santiago to Valencia via Ryan Air no covid test required they did not look at our vacination cert either. We were concerned as well so went to the Ryan air desk as soon as we got to the airport, they told us that there were no covid test requirements while flying within Spain.
We are stayong in the municipal alberge in
We are staying in the municipal albergue in Vila Nova de Arousa (Espritual Varient) did not ask for anything.
The only place we were asked for our vacination cert was in Porto and our first stop on the coastal route. Our Canadian Vacination cert was not good in Porto but the hotel was good with our negative test coming into portugal. After the first day we have not had to present our certificate at any...
We were in Barcelos 3 days ago and walked to Lugar , we stayed at Casa Fernanda and had an amazing experience. It is a donativo but Fernanda and her husband provided a great communal meal and a very welcoming place to stay. Highly recommend it but it is very popular so advise you to call ahead...
One thing I forgot to mention, bring some gum or mints especially when when flying. Between waiting at the airport, flying and then getting out of the airport at the end, wearing a mask for that long got really rank😑
We wear our masks anywhere indoors but not while walking although there were a few times in Porto that we felt the crowd was too large so we put our masks on. Right now we are staying at the BWay Guest House in Barcelos, very nice set up a little pricey but I think worth it.
We flew into Lisbon, the airport was pretty busy, social distancing was impossible but everyone was masked. We stayed in Lisbon one night then took the train to Porto. The campground in Labruge was good but keep in mind that they do not provide sheets on the rubber mattresses but do have...
Hi there. We are now in Barcelos have been walking 3 days. We are arrived in Porto on the 3rd which was a Friday and stayed until Sunday when we started walking. The city is beautiful but crazy busy so if you are starting out on the Friday it is probably good, you will avoid the crowds. When we...
Husband and I are in Porto now, will start the walk tomorow morning Sept 5. Today we will explore the city and check out some of the Port houses, what a beautiful city.
We did Norte in 2019 started Sept 5. We had a bit of rain the first few days but after that the weather was good until the last week. Obviously every year is different but the Norte route was spectacular even in the rain. Just bring rain gear and enjoy.
