Welcome to the forum and buen camino! Always nice to see finnish pilgrims here. Enjoy your own time - my children are so young, that I have to wait a couple of years until I´m able to do it again. I´m sure you´ll meet wonderful persons with whom to spend your anniversary :D
Shortly: I had tendinities in my left leg, which forced me to stop for 5 days. At that time I was in Burgos, and took bus to Santo Domingo de Silos (you remember Canto Gregoriano, the singing monks of that village). Stayed there in a hostel (the monastery allowes only men stay there), wrote my...
Rebecca, I read all your posts and loved them. Love your thoughts and the questions you make to your readers. I´ll walk with you virtually (walked my own camino 2006, I´m a young woman too, thou not Catholic but Protestant but much with the same thoughts), thank you for giving me - and all the...
Now then, I´ve seen also the last one, and cried and cried, from the very beginning with those black-and-whites and people saying "radio buen camino - pilgrim´s voice". And coming to Santiago, and the botafumeiro, tears, tears, tears and memories from six years ago. Must have been quite a job...
Today I´m gonna watch part 9 (I was the one who asked about parts 2-4 in the other thread). Thank you so much for these! I´ve enjoyed especially the mornings and sunrises... and it has been interesting to "be" in the camino in autumn, as my own camino took place in April-May.
I´d also walk just one stretch. As tyrrek said, why leave the people you´ve just made friends with? Moreover, at least for me caminos have been deep processes of my mind&spirit and they somehow are bind together with the scenery and the continuum of the walking, so that taking a bus would mean...
Sil, thank you for reminding me about the fact that the original camino has really been a path of mass, not of solitude! Burgos 32 albergues... well... that was really something!
Tyrrek, you must be right, other caminos will slowly get better infrastructure due to growing interest, and vice...
Beautiful photos, thank you!
When I walked Primitivo in May 2007, me and two spanish friends of mine we were the only ones on the road for first three days. Tineo was the first albergue where we met others. I was lucky to have those friends with me, walking all alone for three days and staying...
I´ve been thinking about the future of the camino(s), and would like to hear if any other has some opinion or vision about it. Mostly I ponder this becouse of my own life-situation: I have two little children and have to wait maybe 5-10 years before I can take some weeks off and go walking. What...
Marseille soap, with which I cleansed myself and my clothes.
Cafe con leche, or very good cappuccino, becouse you can´t get a real cafe con leche in Finland :(
I only read one verse from Bible every morning. I didn´t bring whole Bible with me, but some sheets from a book which has a verse for every day. I really didn´t have time to read anything else, I even stopped writing my journal after two weeks (which is a pity, but I wrote down everything I...
