RIP Maria Nieves Panizo Benevente - Rabanal del Camino

I stayed in their private quarters on my 1st Camino in 2012, as Refugio Gaucelmo refused me entrance. She looked after me, my left leg was injured and she pampered me and made sure I was ok. Forever grateful. RIP.

The Way, My Way - the movie

This will be a great movie, based on his blog post of 2013, when he walked. I was on the blog and we have been friends ever since. The blog turned into his book and now into the film. Many of the pilgrims he walked with, actually are in the movie and some actors. For me it will be interesting...

    Starting Mozarabe in Malaga 4/2024

Lindsay Teschene is currently walking the route and posting daily on fb. Most important get in touch with the association that looks after the Mozarabe. You will need to contact them each day to get the code of entry of daily albergues. He loves the route that is very well marked.

    Return To Canada after Camino

I like the Santiago to Dublin suggestion. I did it on reverse in 2019. When in Dublin get in touch with Irish Camino organization, they are very friendly. I stayed at Trinity College.

Should I stay or should I go?

Hi, I stayed about 5 km outside of Padron, already on the way to Santiago. It's a beautiful place. https://www.olagardejesus.com/en

Any Advice about how to strengthen my knees for down hills.

Myself, I make good use of my poles to make sure yhe ground is solid and for balance. No matter how " steep", I never walk straight down, I create my own switchbacks, zigzag or slalom, call it what you will, and take my time.

    Hospitaleros & The Pilgrim

I have served as a hospitalera so far 4 times, Zamora, Miraz, Grado and Sahagun. All different but in principal the same. Very rewarding, and I loved the daily rotation of pilgrims. The hardest part for me was saying good bye the next morning. Serving at the pilgrims office equally rewarding...

    Trying to include Lourdes

Fly to Toulouse, train to Lourdes, then walk to Saint Marie de Oloron, then south to Somport and continue on the C Aragonese. Or skip the walking from Lourdes to Somport and start walking from there on the C Aragonese. Both are beautiful walks.

    Staying in Madrid

thats sounds like a great option. At the end of a Camino, if I fly out of Madrid, I like to stay near Atocha and enjoyed Hotel Sancho. It is walking distance (for a pilgrim for sure) from Atocha, but also near Parque de El Retiro, (one of my favorite parks to walk through) on the way to Madrid...

2 stamps per day Camino de Invierno

Collette, just show them your pictures. Get as many stamps you can. The time of the year and route, I would think they will be considerate.
