    want solitude

When are you wanting to go? There is much more solitude in the off season (December to March) on the Camino Frances. Or chose a quieter route such as the Via de la Plata, Camino Invierno, or the Mozarabe?

Apps with Dinner & Meal icons

If it says D for donativo, that means the meal is included. If there is a $ or a € sign, it probably means there is an extra charge.

Death of American pilgrim in Castromaior today

If I recall, it is a pretty steep and steady hill all the way from Portomarin to Castromaior.

    Luggage transfer

Some may accept luggage transfer. The transfer service will know for certain which ones accept a pack. Most of the donation based albergues run by volunteers will not and the Xunta albergues in Galicia do not.

Backpack is 2 kg too heavy TwT

I would have one set of clothes for day and one for evening. You have a lot of clothes. Remember that you may be wearing some of the jackets, etc. so I wouldn't necessarily count them in the weight. I would take only a few Band-Aids. I wouldn't take the iodine and I would take only a couple of...

May-June Camino Frances - Rain Gear & Eating ware

@misspenn2519 , please don't take any of this too harshly or think you must adopt every suggestion. As you can see, we all have different preferences. Just take the things that seem best for you.

May-June Camino Frances - Rain Gear & Eating ware

Please take all TP with your in a plastic bag (and your #2 as well). You find plenty of TP and the rest of it behind rocks, trees, and sometimes right on the trail. There are whole threads on this. It takes a long time for biodegradable TP and non-biodegradable types to degrade.

    Newbie

I have diabetes. I also take a BP med that makes me more susceptible to sun. I have had more than one heat injury. Once you've had one, you can be predisposed to others. At least one on my military years and one 3 summers ago on the Camino Aragones when the heat was cranking up to above the...

Here are the bus times from the Madrid Airport bus station to Burgos (Alsa) and the bus times from Burgos to Belrado (Jimenez) for Wed. May 6. These are probably pretty regular on weekdays. You can search for your date (depending on how far in advance, may not be available yet) It will require a...
