annakappa, I am leaving for my first Camino this evening, leaving from SJPdP on Thrusday morning. So with your comment "Don't put your backpack on the bed" has confused me. I thought, from my readings here, that to put your backpack on the bed was the only way to save your bed for the night...
Thank Goodness it's "normal"!!! I'm up every morning between 4 and 5am and I was thinking my body was getting "Camino ready" but I'm getting pretty tired now!! I depart in 4 days and I do hope to get a good night sleep the night before I head out!! Buen Camino!!
I think I would be afraid to check in my backpack as we all know that luggage has a tendency to get lost periodically and with my luck, mine would not show up at my final destination!! I will be carrying mine on so I know it will be there when I arrive! Buen Camino!
Hi Mary,
Young? Fit? Will I'm not either of those but I am active when it comes to walking but I have never walked for hours on end, day after day!! I'm sure I'll be stopping a day or two along "The Way"! Who knows, you might just be able to catch up with me!! I am very much looking forward...
I arrive on the 10th, hopefully I'll get to meet some of you before I leave on the 11th!! I will be looking around while I'm in SJPdP and will most likely stop into somewhere for a nightcap before turning in. I will take note of the places listed and will be sure and stop in to see who's...
I don't speak Spanish and trying to book the train one way for a certain day. How criticial is it that I book this train in advance
Thank you!! That makes life easier!!
Hi Jennie, that's awesome news!! I'm looking forward to meeting you and your sister! Did you manage to get your booking at Orisson? I have my reservation but will play it by ear if I will be staying or moving on to Roncesvalles but it's comforting to know that I have the option to stay should...
Thank you Monk Moses and Margaret! This is my first Camino so I am unsure of what to do or what to expect. But I guess I will learn very quickly when I get there, just like every other pilgrim! Learn as I go! :)
Buen Camino!!
Awwww hence the bus that leaves Orisson to bring people back to SJPDP for the night. So I guess you are right then in saying my decision has already been made. I either book a second night in SJPDP or continue on to Roncesvalles. Am I able to book a reservation in Roncesvalles?
Thanks for that info Gerard! The total kms from SJPDP to Roncesvalles is 27.5kms. It's 7.6kms from SJPDP to Orisson. So that will take a little over two hours. So, say I left SJPDP at 6:30 then I'll arrive at Orisson approximately 9am. There is still a full day ahead!! But the distance...
