This was one of the places I really wanted to enjoy when I came upon it. Unfortunately it was raining like crazy. I did manage to get a small taste of the wine however, (using a water bottle cap) kind of dry but still memorable!

Walked partial Camino's twice in Merrell boots. Great long distance walking shoes for sure, with the right inserts!

    SJPP is Packed with Pilgrims.

You might find a free ground mat if you want one at various Albergues. When I stayed in Roncesvalles end of May 2018 there were a couple at the dump/donation table.

    SJPP is Packed with Pilgrims.

Thank you for the information. Yes I walked for 3 days May/June 2018 it was all the time we had. I have pre-booked a couple of places (Pamplona, Puente la Reina, and Lorca (short day)) and wanted to just play it by ear from there. Hopefully things will thin out after Pamplona, and I always try...

This sounds a bit troubling. I am restarting my Camino in Pamplona on 16 Sept 2019. Not sure how fun this will be with hundreds of pilgrims running for beds every night!

Hi Ruth, welcome to this excellent and very informative forum! I am restarting my Camino in Pamplona on 16 September 2019 so maybe our paths will cross somewhere on the way. Buen Camino!

    boots vs shoes

When I did a partial Camino in 2018 I wore a pair of Merrell Moab's II Mid 12" wide. They were perfect for me as they are light but still offer good traction and support for the more rockier areas A lot of the shoes I saw parked in the albergues were Meindl, Merrell, Salomon's, Columbia and...

Pre-Booking? Camino Frances mid Sept. 2019 start

I only booked the first night on my last mini-Camino. When I hit Zubri I found that all the local Albergues were full. The owner of one of the alburges I spoke to made a phone call and then transported us to a hostel on the edge of town (which we never would of found on our own) for free...

Excellent video and the matching song is perfect. You should not be sad that it is over, just plan another trip and go!

    April 15 from SJPP

Am starting this year from Pamplona (22 April '19) as I had walked the beginning last year (May/June '18) but only had a few days to do it. Maybe our paths will cross somewhere along the way!

Going back to finish the Camino Frances April 22 2019!

Been lurking for awhile and thought it was time to register. This forum has helped me a lot with my last practice Camino (4 days May/June 2018). I am returning to Pamplona 22 April '19 to start this time and hope to complete the entire way. Just trying to work out my packing list and keep my...
