Does anyone know whether anyone can place/spread ashes of deceased pilgrims here, and/or whether permission needs to be granted?
I am meeting up with several of our pilgrim group from 2014, with a portion of the ashes of one of our group who has since died -she loved Castrojeriz and environs...
I lit this candle at Lourdes as I set out on my first Camino 11th September 2014…,in memory of my late wife Susan … I have since taken this image and her memory on pilgrimages all over the World , always remembered along with fellow pilgrims I have met and since died … May they rest in peace …
I'm also in the UK
I always use Rohan for travel underwear - boxers and briefs
https://www.rohan.co.uk/mens/base-layers/
Perfect for Caminos, always quick drying, although not cheap
Advantage is you can go in a shop and see them
I’ve always taken both a camera, and phone to take pictures/videos
both have advantages, and disadvantages…
Small camera similar to above, in a pouch on my rucksack waist belt …
easily accessible, to take pictures whenever, relies on easily purchased batteries, which are long lasting …. No...
I recently transited through Paris ( UK to Mexico) and , even though at all times I remained in the ‘secure’ zone , still had to go through security again …
11th September 2014 ( my 60 th Birthday ) the day I started walking my first ever Camino … Lourdes to Santiago de Compostela, via SJPP…I was greeted by the hospiteleros at Lourdes with a rendition of ‘Happy Birthday’ , and presented with a shell which everyone signed for me , and sang as I left...
I’m amazed at the tone of many of the replies here ..!!
In September 2014 I walked a lot of the CF with a fellow pilgrim - she carried a very small hairdryer with her ... and often had a Que of pilgrims wishing to lend it each night ...which she happily allowed ..
( I didn’t need/ nor use it...
I walked through Porto on the CP at this exact time last year , there was never a need to book in advance , however as a group of 3, we sometimes booked ‘on the go’ for that evening , as we were happy to use b&b’s , small Hotels etc ... the prices were very reasonable...
I just used...
I am awaiting a delivery of my newly made marker stone from this company...

I saw a flyer whilst recently walking the CP, and ordered one !
I have my (4 years old info) which I can send you if you wish ( send a pm with email address)
There is lots of info on the Internet , more up to date
I took 6 days from Lourdes to SJPP... there weren’t many others ( 2 !) doing the same , but I think it’s more popular now !
