I'm sorry, I have to bite my tongue every time I see a post like this. I am one of "those people" you are complaining about. Transport from Santiago to sarria
The bus company was Freire and multiple times during the day but not everyday. I had to wait about an hour so probably the 12:45 pm but the company may not be in business anymore or times may have changed. I believe one of the bus companies is no longer running but don't remember which one.- Joyce Cassidy

Transport from Santiago to sarria
This may have changed since I was there in Sept 2017 as I haven't kept up on the bus system. So I apologize in advance is no longer the case. But a bus stopped at the airport and picked up passengers to Lugo. From the Lugo bus station you could purchases a bus ticket to go from Lugo to Sarria.- Joyce Cassidy

As has been said make sure you have good equipment, shoes that fit your feet and don't cause blisters, a backpack that fits your body and walk with your backpack filled with what you expect to take.
