My wife and I will be doing the same, leaving Porto on the 7th of May. Walking to Matosinhos as well the first day (starting out slow and taking our time). We were thinking of walking along the coast to Caminha and turning inland from there. Probably see you out there. Bom Caminho!
My wife and I (John and Christy) are walking out of Porto on the 7th as well. Probably start from the Cathedral. We may see you along the way. Buen Camino!
How long would a post office keep your parcel in Porto? We are walking out of Porto and return there at the end of our Camino. Would be a good solution for our two small suitcases with our non Camino clothes and stuff.
The turn around time at Walgreens where we are (Idaho) was two to three days. This was in 2021for a trip to France. Not sure what’s changed between then and now..
Wife and I are also flying to Lisbon and walking the Coastal trail out of Porto. Will spend a couple of nights in Lisbon then take the train to Porto. Will walk out of Porto on the 7th of May. Thanks for the heads up about the senior discount, that will help.
My wife and I plan to walk from Porto starting May 7th and would like to send two small suitcases ahead to your place in Santiago. Will be in touch as the dates get closer.
When we walked in 2015 we fell into a routine. When we got to where we were going to sleep for the night we sat down and decided how tired we were and how far we wanted to walk the next day, then we found a private albergue and reserved a bed for the next day. It worked well for us on that trip...
When I first walked I considered it a great way to see Spain and be immersed in the culture of Spain and the Camino, it soon became more than that for me. I think you will find your own reasons when you get on the trail. Loved it so much we are walking again in May/June.
I walked 4 years ago in May June and carried a poncho liner to use as a sleeping bag.It also worked well as a blanket and rolled up tight and fit well in my pack.
My wife and I will be walking the Camino for the second time this year. We only walked part of it in 2015 and we would love to do the whole thing this year. It was a wonderful experience then and I am sure it wont disappoint this time.
