We ended up getting our policies from World Nomad for medical, medical evacuation, and repatriation; because, they only needed start and end dates. We flew to Madrid and then took a ship home. Most of the other travel insurance companies didn’t know how to handle that.
Thank you. I am in north Texas - about 6 hours north of the worst of it. I've been watching The Weather Channel since yesterday. I hope all those in harm's way evacuated when they could.
I went to my local Fed Ex/Kinko's looking for a tube. They recommended their triangle box with fits two pair of regular straight collapsible poles. The edges are 6.5 inches wide and it is 38 inches long. It was free. They said they didn't have a way to charge for it. The corregations run...
I've been using Injinji toe socks for my training hikes and love the short ones alone, not as liners. I don't like the longer socks because the bands around the tops are too snug for me and I have legs on the thin side.
My daughter gave me a jar of Biscoff spread. It's the consistency of peanut butter but made out of Biscoff cookies. It was confiscated at the Columbus Ohio airport. Not quite sure what hazard it posed.

Thank you, Davey. I can get a Ferrino in the States from the Trek Inn website so I think I'll give it a try. Since the back can be fastened to be worn without a backpack, it sounds like it would be a great rain jacket to take on vacation.
The Ferrino only comes in two sizes: S/M and L/XL...
Oh my! When I saw the thread title all I could think of was the Twilight Zone episode from years ago where the man had an earwig stuck in his ear. It ate it way all the way through his head and came out his other ear.
Abba is a prime contender for songs that get stuck in my head. Maybe...
I have a new pair of Sketchers Go Ultra Trail 3's. They are very comfortable and cushiony. I've only worn them 3 times - each walk was 4-5 miles on a flat, packed gravel surface with no backpack. Hardly a good test. They have good reviews online. They have some sort of "draining-design...
My son-in-law gave me his old FitBit; but, I have found the mileage function to be highly unreliable when using hiking sticks. It must depend on swinging arms to track distance reliably.
Thanks for sharing. I always keep Dr. Scholl's Mole Foam handy and use it at the first sign of a hot spot; but, I need scissors with it. I'll give this a try. :)
