Summer 2005--your design is the closest to what I used to have--I just wanted the St. James red sword/cross image--the one used on the tarts, the scallop shells, etc. The ones I had were about 2 inches high...and I bought them at the shop diagonally across the street from the compostela office...
ok, I'm back. I just went on a crazy internet ride to all sorts of links, and the last led me back to this Forum! Seems someone else was looking for souvenirs, and this site http://www.pilgerandenken.de/pilgerprod ... er_57.html listed patches and pins, but still no stickers!
It's in...
This is amazing!!!
I was just online looking for the SAME THING--my car just got rear-ended, and my Camino decals have been destroyed. I did not even care about the car--but the stickers--the stickers I bought after my Pilgrimage in '06-are gone.
I am going to check the American Pilgrims site...
chinches
In regard to the bedbug/chinches/flea dilemma on the Camino. I arrived home on August 11th...it's the end of Sept. now, and I still have scars. I was the 'chincha' girl on the Camino--I and another contracted them in Estella, but I had the allergic reaction and pale skin which made...
thank you and farewell
I am leaving this morning for the plane to Spain to start my Camino. Thanks to all on this site for your information and encouragement. Many blessings to all, love and light...... k
Hey Shell--
Do you need to know an exact area because you want to do something special in that spot? Dare I say the word without any negative connotations---but perhaps do a 'ritual' of sorts? Since the entire Camino experience is a ritual--I don't think I wrote out of line.
But, back to...
Re: Sleeping Mats
You know what, Sillydoll? That is exactly what I was thinking of doing during my Camino--I use it if I need it, someone else uses it if they need it. What happens happens. It is just so bulky---featherlight---but it will keep me from being 'streamlined'. I'm...
Cathy, I heard the same things, too...I'm starting the Camino at the end of June. My question, along with the long sleeve fleece shirt, do I bring a foam camping mat to use as my mattress if 'there is no room at the inn' due to summer crowds? I'm hearing yes and no--can I please hear from the...
Dear Zohar and Chris--
I hope you don't mind but I am swiping this quotation and taking it with me on my first Camino late June 2006. It is eloquent, and arrived at the perfect time to send me a personal message. Thank you both. k
Yes, there are ley lines all over the world. They are simply intersecting lines of energy (looks alot like latitude and longitude lines over a globe), and many ancient sites, from the Avebury menhir to Macchu Picchu, to the Vatican and the Dome of the Rock fall on very strong multiple...
Thanks for your swift replies.
Sillydoll, I will keep your poem with me on the Camino.
And Geo-maybe I should have told you my travel time--end of June to mid August! I thought the mat was good because of 'no room at the inn' due to summer rush--I thought I might have to park it outside...
Hello all--
Last month I asked a bunch of questions about a bunch of topics, and received a bunch of suggestions--thank you all so much for the feedback!
So, from your wise words and experiences...here is what I am thinking of, and, like the beginner that I am, I seek reassurance of my...
Please excuse my ignorance of European ways, but is it possible, (and, mostly, cost-efficient) to book a flight from Santiago de Compostela to Barcelona same day? In all honesty, I have no clue when I will arrive in Santiago, and don't want to chance an online purchase of air tickets. In the...
I had read earlier in this forum about the transport system 'Express Bourriot' to get pilgrims from Roncevalles to St Jean Pied de Port--is there any one out there who has tried it, and if so, can you tell me how to take advantage of this transportation method? I'm a first time Peregrino(a?)...
Hello-
I really want to travel on to the 'end of the world'--and then public transport my way back to Barcelona. But I would like to know, honestly, how many miles is it to Finisterre? How long would it take to make the journey?
