    Purchasing train tickets/cost of tickets

Thank you for the suggestion, however I'm already locked into starting the walk on Saturday, so have allowed Thursday and Friday for travel. The easy jet flight from Amsterdam to Bordeaux is an option, but I'd need to do it on the Thursday and that is currently $300AUD per person. Even the train...

    Purchasing train tickets/cost of tickets

Yes that does seem to work, $776 AUD. However this is second class tickets. I was getting $700 tickets for premium class before it advised me that 'ticket cannot be confirmed' The second class tickets were only about $500 when I first looked today. So they have jumped up about $200 as well...

    Purchasing train tickets/cost of tickets

I'm travelling from Amsterdam to SJPDP. I have just input all the same dates into the Thalys website for Amsterdam to Paris and then into Oui.sncf for Paris-Bayonne-SJPDP and it seems to be pretty much the same price as using Trainline. For some reason the 21st of May might be booking out

    Purchasing train tickets/cost of tickets

I will check out the link, thanks. I’m Travelling on 21st of May from Amsterdam to SJPDP. The whole trip was about $770 for 2. Then it came up with an error saying it was sold out. Tried again and it is now priced at $899! This seems a ridiculous amount! This was through thetrainline.com. Same...

    Purchasing train tickets/cost of tickets

Hi all Does anyone know how the trains work in Europe? I'm a little confused. It seems the train I wanted to book suddenly 'booked out' and then I went back on and the price had gone up $200 AUD but still the exact same trains. So obviously it wasn't booked out at all!. Does it do this if...

    Other South Aussies?

Hi Janet. How lucky to live in the hills! I am on the plains but aim to do one hills walk a week. Well, based on what your suggestions I think I am doing enough. I have been doing chambers gully regularly. And get to Belair NP quite regularly. I work full time, so I was a bit worried I wasn't...

    Other South Aussies?

    Other South Aussies?

Do you think this is something to worry about?? Today there has been announced a lot of cases in Italy so its only a matter of time for the virus to spread to France and Spain.

    Other South Aussies?

Sounds good! I work full time, so I am struggling to get any back to back walking in. But hoping my two long walks a week and gym sessions before work are all helping!

    Other South Aussies?

I've been aiming for a 18-20km hills walk every sunday and a 10-15km walk mid week. Hoping that will be enough!

Getting to St Jean Pied de Port from Amsterdam

Hi Phil Still haven't decided yet! Get a headache every time I go to look at options. What are you thinking about doing?

Getting to St Jean Pied de Port from Amsterdam

Haha, good point! But I've already paid to fly from Australia to begin with! The entire trip is adding up!

Getting to St Jean Pied de Port from Amsterdam

thanks everyone for your suggestions. Now its a matter of working out the right price. 420 euros (for 2) seems a bit steep to fly directly from Amsterdam-Paris-Biarritz! Might have to rethink the train options

Getting to St Jean Pied de Port from Amsterdam

Hi all I'm coming from Amsterdam to SJPDP to start the Camino in May 2020. Yay I can say I am doing it this year now! Anyway, I've allowed 2 days to get there, so I have the option to overnight somewhere if needed. I was originally going to train to Paris, overnight there and then train it from...
