Just saw this. Don't count on Easter Camino.

About the most realistic assessment I've read so far. 😊

    RIP, Alison Raju

In 2004 we were on the way to Aldeanueva del Camino after a long hot day from Cacaboso. We stopped to rest near the motorway. One of our companions who had a German guide book said, a little bit despairingly, it's still 14 kilometers to Aldea. I disagreed saying "Alison says it's 4". "Haha...

    RIP, Alison Raju

So sad to hear this Laurie. Alison has been a guiding star for many years. We've spoken about her every time we have been on or near the Padornelo. May she rest in peace.

Notes: Camino San Salvador September 2016

Hi Kelly and thanks for the question. The ref in Pajares is the municipal and, as mentioned the telephone number is on the wall at the ref in LA Robla. If not it is also on WWW.gronze.com under Camino Salvador. Marisa will be very glad if you can ring, so she knows you are coming and if you...

Ruta de la Lana. PDF form.

Hello everyone, In the last few months there has been, happily, a steady stream of Pilgrims asking for a version of the simple guide I wrote for the Lana, completed in September last year. I've been sending it individually, but it is possible if you scroll down on a comment written on July the...

LIVE from the Camino Villajoyosa alternative start to the Lana

Incredible Alan. First the Lana, then the Olvidado and now on the road from Villajoyosa. Plus all the insights into Spanish history. Thanks. Fascinating reading.

Planning Lana in late August 2019 from Valencia

Thanks for those kind words Joe. Unfortunately I can't help with the Requena although I know where it goes, and it looks interesting. You could also opt for the Levante as far as Almansa and Alpera. The Lana /Levante split is just outside Alpera and clearly marked. Best. Kevin

    New guide. Distance, stages.

Answering a query. The exact distance is uncertain due to walking around towns etc. But the total distance from Alicante to Burgos would be approximately 710 km. Not much more anyway. Stages? Again roughly 26 or 27 days but this would depend on the individual walking. Rest days not included...

Considering the first stretch of Camino de la Lana over New Year's

Hei Heidi, you may be Norwegian but I better write this in English. The guide written after completing the Lana in October is now finished. I can't load it up for some reason, but I can send it to you directly from my email kfobrien@online.no. so that you have it for eventual planning before...

    New Lana guide in English

At last it's finished. I hope this guide, written after completing this incredible Camino in October 2018, will help others who are thinking about walking the Lana. It was a wonderful experience and the infrastructure is there! Strongly recommended. It seems that I can't upload this file for...

Questions about bars — need info for 2019 guide

No worries Laurie. Your guide removed any hesitations we had, and writing this one, I can see how much work you put into it. Thanks again!
