OBSOLETE COVID THREAD Reimbursements from travel co.

We were to start three days ago. We left our cancellation until the date a) my flight was canceled and b) travel restrictions were in place. The airline gave a 100% refund and I had no issues cancelling the accommodation booking I made for April 6 and 7.

OBSOLETE COVID THREAD Reimbursements from travel co.

Hi folks, I very seldom book accommodations more than a few days ahead when traveling and I very rarely use tour co. However, on this trip the two others I was walking with, one celebrating her 70 the birthday, felt more comfortable prearranging accommodation and their bag delivery. My question...

    Still starting my Camino

Thanks all for the good ideas, inspiration and humour. I'll pass on the snore track for now :) My progress has been very slow this week. In the past week our walking area had been reduced to our local neighborhoods. Combine that with continuing to work full time+ from home with a couple of...

Can't you tell it's spring? Really, it will look wonderful in 6-8 weeks.

I am still walking my Camino

Our city is blessed with a very large green belt through the river valley and ravines. Usually you can walk and not come across any one. Yesterday everyone had the same thought to walk after a few days of -20. I think my walks will be limited to very early or late wanderings around the...

    Still starting my Camino

Like so many others I, with a heavy heart, cancelled my flight for April 6 a few days ago, though I had resigned myself earlier to ending my " kid free" Camino time. For a week now our family has been in isolation, as is required of every one. Our only outings are our daily walks which we have...

We are looking into booking a few accommodations in advance as it is the holidays. Looking for recommendations for gems/ lovely places to visit...

What clothes do you wear after shower

So we were coming from Indonesia when we did the Camino. I had a very light satong in my bag. It was our table for a forest picnic, my out of shower wrap, an evening skirt, a scarf on a windy day, privacy screen in dorms, sun screen....it was used daily for several things. Tempted to bring it...

Walking with daughter and niece both 15. Too young????

We walked with our 11 year old and 16 year old kiddos. Our younger kiddo walked in an imaginary world he was creating as he stepped. There was some stick swinging/ swooshing at trees along the way and he tended to walk slower after lunch. Our 16 year old was pretty gruntal in communique at the...

    Newbie Questions

I would concur about shopping at the end. We picked up some high quality, non hiking clothes at the end that served us very well for the 6 weeks of traveling in Europe following our walk (2 adults, a teen and a child)

    Cheap but fine equipment

We walked as a family ( 11and 16 year olds). One kid wore runners from decathlon and a pack bought in a street market in Indonesia. Because it was 8 months into a years travel we had very little specialized gear. Kids carried 30 l , adults 40l. We had rain jackets and picked up plastic garbage...
