Absolutely not. I walked the Camino Frances with my 16 year old son. It was an amazing adventure. We met a mother with a 10 year old along the way. You will be fine.

I would never waLk a Camino without using liner socks and Vaseline. I have done the French route twice as well as the vdlp and aside from one tiny exception have never had a single blister.
I too, did the Via de la Plata after walking de Frances twice. I loved it for all the reasons you did not. Solitude, no commercialism, camaraderie with pilgrims you meet day after day because there are no other options, and so many kind Spaniards not affected by the crowds of the Frances.
Idif the entire VdlP in 2016 and walking alone was par for the course. Most evenings, though, there were other pilgrims to spend time with. If you want to walk in solitude this is a Camino for you
