I like Aquarius much more than Gatorade, primarily because of the much lower sugar content: "While Gatorade is very similar to sports water, sports water drinks such as Aquarius and Pocari Sweat are more electrolytes and water than sugar and flavour as seen in most of Gatorades and Powerades...
I started in SJPP about 14:00 on the afternoon of September 1, 2021, and spent the night of Sepember 12th in Villafria (a Burgos suburb, basically). So I was in Burgos before 10:00am on the 13th. Oh, I was 67 in 2021 and a little overweight. Larry Elsken
I know it is not water, but I liked the low-sugar + electrolytes water, "Aquarius" available in lemon or orange flavor all along the Spanish camino (Frances). Like Gatorade, but with about 1/4 the sugar; I wish I could get the limon flavor in the USA.
I'm an omnivore, but the absolute best meal I had on the camino was lunch at Gaia Restaurant, in Burgos. The only problem is the very limited hours they are open:

You could begin in SJPP, and walk the starting 10-15 days of the Frances you missed (which is REALLY nice). And then take a train or bus or taxi to the 100km point: Sarria would be the normal recommended spot but how about Lugo, instead? That is an great town, with amazing Roman walls, and a...
Two of my favorite smaller towns were Puente la Reina, where I was glad I spent the night, and Castrojerez, where I was very sorry I didn't. Castrojerez might even make a good "rest" day city, in my opinion. And Logrono was a very big, pleasant surprise, and I place I would enjoy exploring more...
I walked the 30 km (mainly along Highway N-120) between the Leon Cathedral and Hospital de Obrigo in September 2021 during my Camino Frances. And it was definitely my least favorite/most "skipable" day. The first 10km felt like "new", undistinguished, big-city suburbs (but it did not feel...
Ditto on the hair. I think I even had some ear wax. And the hand, crunchy cartilage. Thereby becoming [literally] the only food I would NEVER eat again. I really will eat anything and everything else [again].
For what it's worth: From the USA, I would repeat what I did in 2021: Fly to CDG, and arrive there early in the morning. Fly mid-morning-to-noon from CDG to BIQ/Biarritz-Bayonne. Spend the night in Bayonne. Take the early or noon train to SJPP, and start walking.
My last few nights were all in hotels/private rooms&bath, and I was happy with all these. All reserved thru Booking.com:

I did this, too, traveling from the USA, spending the night in Biarritz, then train to SJPP. I would do it the same way again, and this is what I recommend to my US Pilgrim friends.
I didn't see anyone else mention Compeed, so I will. Compeed blister "pads" are amazing: They are like an artificial callus; they stay on through walking and showers for at least a week, and really work. I only had a couple blisters, but they stopped them from being a problem.
