Poll Where do you come from?

My (Belgian) uncle used to live in Dana Point (on his boat!) when I was a little kid in the early 1980s. I have beautiful of memories of visiting him there. Beautiful sunsets, laidback friendly people and lots of seals.

Poll Where do you come from?

Western Europe! Born and grown up in Belgium, and spent the second half of my life so far in the United Kingdom.

    The Introverted Pilgrim

I feel the same, Davebugg, and it seems there are a few of us! I don’t dislike people at all and I don’t mind listening to conversations, but I feel like my own little island (and I like it that way). In the past though I have sometimes felt that it was a “problem” and that I should overcome it...

    Orisson or onwards to Roncesvalles

I’m also reasonably fit (not an Olympian by any means) and I walked to Roncesvalles on Sunday from SJPP (in torrential rain!), it wasn’t that hard. Just go all the way, you’ll be glad you have. You can stop for a coffee in Orisson and be happy that you have something else to occupy the rest of...

To Orisson or not to Orisson...

    My idea of hell.

How the Japan 88 Temple Pilgrimage is Different from The Camino de Santiago

Very interesting, thank you! I haven’t yet considered doing the 88 Temples pilgrimage but I very much enjoyed reading your post.

Arrrgh. . . It's Too Red. Will It Be Like Carrying An Easter Egg?

It looks fine. I have seen many red backpacks on the Camino and never thought anything of it. Can’t see the problem.

Good News. One Pilgrim Missing Between SJPP and Roncesvalles is found today!

I blame Martin Sheen. They should send HIM the bill. 😂

I probably won’t do this again

My mum also lives right by the church in a sleepy town renowned for its artful bell ringing. So not only it happens every quarter of an hour but it’s practically a full concert every time. 😂 But it’s funny how you get so used to it that you don’t notice it at all when you live there.

Classic snorer thing to say. 😉

    Going from London to SJPdP

You might not "believe" there is one, and yet it is true. As Michael says, one can fly to Madrid from there.

How to get from El Acebo to Molinaseca

When I was walking that section I had never read about it and did not know what to expect. For a (long) while I did wonder if I had taken a wrong turn and was in fact walking on a dried up river bed. Then two your girls who had stayed with me in Manjarin the night before caught up with me and...
