    OP, I suspect that you're right. I have a similar problem. I need US size 14 shoes with a very wide toe box. They're hard to find in the US. I "sampled" a couple of Decathlon stores by email and they don't have anything in stock that meets my needs. So, I'll be carrying two pairs of shoes...

    I guess I was more concerned about the spectators. The teams and supporting cast number about 4,500. The spectators in tens of thousands. While most of those live along or near the route, some people travel from afar to "follow" several stages of the race each year, moving from place to place.

    I will walk my first Camino in 2024 and I have thought about walking CF to Ponferrado then diverting to the Invierno. My guidebook says the Invierno is not recommended for first time pilgrims. What do you think?
