Update: The images and attachemnets are now back, we are generating new thumbnails.... (this takes time with 20 years of photos). I know the notification icon gives an error. That error should be gone within an hour or two. Sorry again! Ivar

Glad to see you enjoyed it. How did you find the part between Tahivilla and Bolonia? From looking at google maps it seemed like the path would be overgrown after the windfarm.
I think I walked on the road which would have been underneath that dune if it's the same one I'm thinking of. There's...
When I was scouting out the Augusta it did seem quite boring after Jerez. A lot of that land used to be underwater not so many centuries ago and has been reclaimed for agricultural purposes, so it's flat and monotonous. I was going to go blast through as quickly as possible in 3 ~30km stages...
Before you get browbeaten into doing the Via Serrana (I kid) I do think the Estrecho (as I did it) is quiet nice and much better for accommodation. The sand can be a slog when it's soft but you also get a cool sea breeze, pine forests, and a great Roman site.
As for your specific questions; yes...
Yeah I think I averaged about 28 euro by following the coast for accommodation. I did notice a prominent spike in pricing at the weekends though. I'm not sure about the albergue but the association in Cadiz would know, worth getting in touch if you haven't.
Looking forward to reading your...
I was in these three cities in April this year, though I won't say that I exhausted everything to see and do in them. Puerto Real is probably the least of them, the alcazar is nice but I don't recall much else. Cadiz and Jerez; I'd probably go for Cadiz but eh, it's close. I'd also favour it...

The post was made by a brand new account and a quick initial search on google didn't yield any corroborating news items, so perhaps a grain of salt is advisable...
I'd also be quite keen to here how it went!
For what it's worth when I was doing some planning the stages I had in mind were (albergue presence confirmed from facebook group):
Zamora (0 km)
Almendra + Ricobayo de Alba (32 km) (albergue in Rico)
Fonfria (20.1) (albergue)
Alcañices (22) (I had...
I can see from the facebook page that there is a new albergue in Vinhais, I assume you're going there?
Beneath that is an ad for a BnB in Segirei:
EGIREI: CASA ANABELA
Accommodation, dinner and breakfast.
Accommodation, dinner and breakfast.
see previous post.
'Segirei is a small village...
The Via Augusta goes from Cadiz to Seville via Utrera. The Camino Estrecho goes from Algeciras to Cadiz. There's an albergue in Tahiville on the Estrecho, but otherwise nothing. You can read up about them on the Augusta amigo website.
I walked the Estrecho recently, though I really just made my...
Hi all
Alltrails isn't cooperating and so instead of sharing my gpx files I have done out my route on google maps instead. For the most part it corresponds to the lighter blue line, where black lines paths which while not on the map are actually there. I've also included the official camino...
